  1. What you said about middle management is right. a lot of middle managers, and those who held small positions in non-development areas were laid off. they barely laid off developers as the tech skills are always required. According to my experience web development gets complex in each year. back then I did simple html pages with simple javascript, some ajax for fetching data without loading the page that's it, then they introduced single page applications with javascript, then with angular 2 they introduced a whole new framework, it includes typescript. so you not only have to learn javascript, but some java concepts like dependency injections with typescript too, microservice architecture became prominent when angular applications become large, server side rendering was used to have a good rank in search engines, SASS like frameworks were introduced, state management libraries were introduced, rxjs like reactive libraries were introduced, cross browser development, ionic like hybrid frameworks were introduced to write on mobiles. cloud platforms like azure, aws, google have their own way of interacting with the platform and its instances. frontend developers should at least know certain technologies like web apps. It's getting more and more complex nowadays. one frontend developer can't learn or do all of these technologies. What I feel is we will start seeing more and more people who only know certain areas in frontend instead of the whole end-end knowledge. based on my discussions with clients, clients are still not fully satisfied with what they receive, so we have more opportunities to improve the existing technologies, meaning more jobs. I think even with the current AI, developers won't be able to speed up their development significantly, maybe somewhat more, but not much. AIs are not smart, don't know anything about the context. it just copies paste from random sites only. my advice for developers is to learn business requirements, problems clients have, and try to offer solutions to them via the technology rather than randomly following some technologies. in addition, try to see if clients NEED something but don't know about it yet, those are new opportunities.

  2. I just don’t agree with your opinion on the matter as a 25 year veteran in the industry and programmer. Your giving a few examples here and there but not discussing the particulars or specifics to each case. If you by stack overflow and indeed stats there roughly 100 people searching for every one job. And if your under location constraints which most older programmers are with child support, families, kids and you have to do remote work, your looking at 1,000 applications to every one job offered. Most of us don’t live in large cities and so your examples are anecdotal at best. It’s also much worst for UI/UX front in folks as well. The competition for a front end job is far worst than one for a backend or full stack dev. The market is completely over saturated with remote devs from China and India and it’s getting worst in 2023 going forward. Please provide stats if you disagree with reports from job boards like indeed. In fact you Medes has gotten so over saturated with applications that they now require a skills assessment test for every job you apply for and you have no idea if there are a 1,000 applicants ahead of you. Been looking for 2 years for part time remote work and field out dozens of applications with 25 years of experience and not one call from indeed. But over the past 20 years I used to get calls immediately. There is my anecdotal experience.

  3. I’m 17 and starting to learn web development I’ve heard the best way to learn is to build stuff and it took me 6 hours to learn how to make a nav bar that doesn’t even border my website there’s like 3%pixels I can’t close off am I doing good or is there a better way to learn?

  4. As long as an insecure billionaire doesn't buy another tech company just because some guy embarrassed him, so he could suspend the account; then we will all be fine.
