You use a WordPress page builder to create beautiful pages and posts for your website, but when it comes to archiving your posts, you’re having trouble. There are no defined content areas where you can apply the full power of the page builder, and theme options are less customizable than expected. These limitations set by WordPress should not stop you from creating the website of your dreams. #wordpress #wpbakery #postsgrid

To address this, you can refer to content elements such as Post Grid and Masonry Post Grid. These content items can be placed on any WordPress page and display your posts or custom posts. Pages with these elements can be used as an alternative to publishing archive pages.

The good news is that you can add whatever else you want and ensure the post grid is just one part of more than the standard post archive page. For example, a portfolio page can contain not only a grid of custom post types related to case studies but also relevant information about services and testimonials.

In the WPBakery Page Builder content elements in the backend and frontend editors, you will notice 4 grid elements, which you can divide into 2 groups based on the source of information: post grid and media grid.

Post grids use pages, posts, and custom post types as information sources, which means you can use the post grid element to display your portfolio post types as a grid. On the other hand, media grid elements also use the WordPress media library as a source, just like the image library or single image content elements.

This type of content item is great for displaying your media in a grid format with transitions, and is often used for photos. The difference between post and media grids, not to mention parameters, is your choice of grid element template. Post grid focuses on redirecting visitors from your grid to the post you will display or custom post, you need to set link parameters in your grid element

  1. Thank you for this! I have a problem with the mobile version, maybe you can help me. In the desktop version I set the postgrid to 3 columns and it works just fine. In the mobile version though, instead of showing one row with the posts rotating, it shows the 3 columns of the desktop version as 3 rows…any Idea how I can have the mobile version have the posts rotate on 1 row? Thank you!

  2. Thank you so much for this tutorial ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a little question maybe you can help me with.

I wanted to have 2 fixed posts and the other ones ordered depending of time of publication.
But the 2 static posts must be on on the right side on each other meaning I have an L post grid loop and 2 static upon each other on the right side.
    Don't know if I am clear ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you and have nice day
