WordPress 5.9 is just around the corner; set to be released on the 25th January 2022. The 5.9 release is a big one, as it brings WordPress one step closer to the FSE experience we were promised with the block editor in 2018.
However, there is a catch. Due to the release of FSE features, WordPress will have to remove some key components from the backend and that play a pivotal role in working with WordPress. to me the biggest issue you did not cover is mobile friendly. What must I do to have my website mobile friendly??? with wp5.9??? Does wp9 "see the device" accessing my website? if no- then what must I do???? Can you provide a list of all block based themes currently available????????

Hello, I have the 5.9 version too. when I install a theme and activate, it doesnt load any theme images. could you please suggest how to fix this?

Is ASTRA theme compatible with 5.8?
Today I noticed I don’t have access to the block editor. 5.9 is supposed to be released yesterday and they took access away from the block editor before having access to the full site editing. Basically I have no choice but to update but still have no access to make changes today.

So just to clarify…if a site is updated to 5.9 can we assume we can still use Elementor and Customizer and the Classic Editor plugin so our Astra experience remains largely the same?

Please update Astra so that it becomes FSE compatible! 🙂 FSE is the right direction and will ultimately make page builders unnecessary.

But the FSE appears to be complex at first sight. I hope the customizer option remains, or maybe Astra will update their theme to give us both options?

I never want to lose access to customizer. As working with WordPress editor is pain in the !…..
As long as Astra Pro continues to use the Customizer, I'm good to go. Not a fan of FSE or Gutenberg.

Thanks for the great video. I don't like that they have removed Customizer and menu options.
Someone should make a plugin to reenable these options as they were.
FSE makes WP look like Wix which isn't good. This is a step back in my humble opinion.

Updating to WP 5.9 does this mean we can't use any ASTRA Theme anymore as well all related plugins purchased with the bsf bundle? Ifso, that would be worst because we would definitely loose a whole bunch of customers which demand to stay always up-to-date with WordPress. Looking forward to your reply … thanks.

Thank you. This is an excellent introduction that has de-mystified what Full Site Editing and a Block Based Theme actually mean.
I detect that how Astra may or may not address these changes is as yet unclear even to Brainstorm Force since there are some basic points that are as yet unknown.
