This is The World’s Smallest Computer

At first you might think of this famous picture. But that isn’t actually a computer. It’s a set of 128 IBM computers. Just 1 of those computers in a pile of salt, looks like this, and can run Doom. But until 2022, those were actually the smallest computers.

Now, scientists have made one a lot smaller.

It’s made by a team at the University of Michigan. And their goal is to get computers small enough to fit in biological cells. This is what they have so far. A tiny computer programmed by flashing light in a pattern. Some of them even have image sensors. And compared to a grain of rice, this is what it looks like.
