Hi, where do you make the client portal, any other tips about it?

But do you charge your clients for the copywriter who needs to get paid? Content us the hardest… my clients usually write it themselves but it often takes ages.

I like to design off the copy so the client isn't restricted in any way and in my opinion the design should be designed around the copy, not the other way round – as the content is what's most important.

Thinking about a solution… maybe I offer them to design with notes so I know what copy needs to be in there and it helps them to finish the copy when having a design structure.

You did not mention anything about keyword researchs and SEO configuration, what I believe is also fundamental. Could you share how you deal with this part of a project once I suppose it belongs to some of the steps you so nicely presented in your ebook?

One question – when you create 2 or 3 versions of design for landing page, do you also create moodboards for the client so they could pick the mood they want, or, do you let them choose design keywords that represent the mood they want? Which way do you think is more effective if you have tried both?

Called by the “VP” saying I need too purchase a Dedicated server/host.. from them of course as you can imagine not cheap. I said “no thank I don’t think it’s needed for me, I will only have local foot traffic and yes I understand there’s risk involved but i high quality shared server that provides protection will make sense” the response was “no I will not work with shared servers this is all we can do and we need to do this now we are running out of time and all of our hard work will be erased it’s on a timer”. From there I stated he sounds like he’s full of shit all you showed me of completed work was a simple template.. with my business or anything about me on it. Please help and educate me a little about hosting and am I being bamboozled? I even ask “okay well i can’t afford this random cost that’s 2x more, so don’t host it for me please just send me the files . He asked how can I do that? No it’s not possible. So my only option is to now pay you 2x more.. hope you see this thank

Hi Megan, I'm a UI/UX Designer and have designed websites and apps myself. I have two quiestions –
One is where do you get inspiration from for your designs? I see you directly jumped into designing in XD vs creating moodboards, flows, sketches/wireframes etc which is what we UX designers typically do before doing the mockups (Visual UI designs).

My other question is how many clients/projects do you take on at a time knowing that you take 10-12 weeks per website. How many hours do you dedicate per day/week for a website?

I'm looking to start my own business and always wonder how others do it all. 🙂
