  1. 05:40 One trend that has been surfacing for the past decade in NYC is G I A N T S A N S S E R I F T E X T and all cases are crude and inelegant.
Lincoln Center now has huge bright LED blue colored giant text that says "Lincoln Center" and has no purpose.
Also, giant numbers at the top of sky scrappers and "S U B W A Y" in huge bright boring sans-serif letters look like the engineers or designers had zero sense of creativity.

  2. Thank you for this fun video. But I have a feeling that you held back a bit, from being critical of some of the design trends. Also, your reactions were made on a desktop viewport. I wonder if your impressions would be different if you had to viewed these websites on a mobile phone. As I recall about 60% (or more) of folks view websites on cell phones.

Imagine a user that visits one of these "glitzy" websites on a regular basis, on mobile or desktop. I wonder if in that case all the animation and scroll effects quickly become tiresome, and possibly impediments to the user experience..

Which brings me to my central question. Is following trends from glitzy AWWWARDS websites really useful to a web designer, especially if one that creates websites for clients that sell products and services? Another way to ask the question is, what target client base would you build a glitzy (using GSAP, Locomotive Scroll, Parallaxjs, Animejs, etc) website for.

In closing, just want to say that I really enjoyed your Web Design and Development courses on Udemy.
