In this video I will give tips on how to design websites for people who are not very creative or artistic at making web designs. People who are more technically gifted might need some types of design rules to follow in order to make good designs.

This is what I will try to accomplish in this video by showing the thought process that goes behind creating simple design elements on a website. We often don’t have “bad ideas” when we make designs, but we do sometimes neglect basic design principles which worsens our designs.

  1. This video would have been improved had it indicated the general rules upfront at the start of the video. As it was made, the video seems very disorganized and ad hoc, kind of like "what will I talk about next?" Decent video, but not well put together.

  2. You think you're all about the rules when in reality you just messed up every single form of alignment in this layout. Also, how can you teach people about principles of design when you don't know how a serif font is called? Thanks for 40 minutes of frustration.

  3. Great video! The first time I enjoyed a 40 minute tutorial video. Very informative and straighforward. Thanks a lot! I'm a software engineer for 4 years and I wanted to learn more about web design. This is a very nice tutorial!!

  4. One Word : PERFECT .

I'm french and yet it is absolutly not an obstacle to understand ur point and ur habits when it comes to explain to a "customer" What u need for ur website and the proper look that it needs. Clearly One of the best video to introduce the job.

  5. Why does no one use Unsplash for stock photography? It's CC0 License … you can use them for personal and commercial use.
They are stunning and not the usual crap you find on places like Pexels!!

  6. As a corporate developer for internal applications, design creativity in is not a best friend of mine. I have to stick to the company policy and templated corporate layouts.

  7. skipped the part where the vertical line under the video is made. could not stop wanting to click on the screen to make the blue selection go away and the white line appear. only realised the actual color is blue at the end. smooth video man!
