  1. I had to rewind and listen to a portion of the replay not once, but TWICE! Did I actually hear Kevin give a compliment to Gutenberg? Sure did! I thought my ears were playing a trick on me there for a bit… LOL!

  2. Thanks Kevin! I am not seeing the <article> html label , is there any place I cannot see it in the inspector. I would love to see how you worked out this label. Great website. love the "about page"

  3. Kevin, you know I am a huge fan using ACSS and Frames with Bricks. For me because my learning style, it's actually been a HUGE challenge in the classroom just like someone with some other issue like Dyslexia or focus challenges, is primarily 'hands on', 'visual' in order to learn and retain the material, the videos that are well presented and clearly worked out without a ton of "um"s and 'ers" and lots of unrelated banter are truly how I learn best as I apply them to a project. That's YOU my friend. Y99u can be so concise, direct and pointed at the topic when you have that as your goal.

I do have one bit of feedback I would like offer.

Your tutorials and such used to be more encapsulated and topic focused, making them shorter. For me to carve out over two hours during even split sessions (which can hinder continuity) is a challenge. Might you consider doing more of the 20~30min topically focused tutorials again? Pick a set of ACSS classes and demonstrate them. Pick one or two frames and show us how to leverage them for our projects. I try to put one of those under my belt every day and it's been really helpful.

    Thanks

  4. 22:22 Aaron DeVandr, I wanted to bring to your attention that the word 'pretentious' you used in your comment might be used out of context. The definition of "pretentious" is "attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed." I'm sure this was an unintentional mistake as I know your intentions are not to be rude to someone who is providing valuable content to the community. I just wanted to clarify this to help ensure that we maintain a respectful and constructive discussion in the chat and in the comments.

  5. You're not only my No.1 source of knowledge (I learned a lot from you), but also a big inspiration. Your videos make me want to outdo myself on every single project as I move forward. 😀 So thanks for all that immense value!

1:11:56 Actually, I believe you don't need the full URL custom field. Instead of pulling in the entire custom field data in Bricks for the Video URL, you can simply do it like this: youtube.com/watch?v={video_id} … Since the url part is gonna be always the exact same.

QUESTION 1: How do you do caching? Just because Perfmatters has no such stuff, right? The site is super fast, and I'm not even from the USA.

QUESTION 2: You haven't fully addressed why you prefer to do custom CSS inside the builder, in contrary to doing it in WPCodeBox. Is the reason because that custom css is intended to be used only on that particular page, so you avoid adding it to a WPCodeBox Global CSS snippet?

P.S: I love your 1:57:54 voice 🤣 would be perfect for a cartoon narration, lol!

  6. Hey Kevin – assuming this site was on GP? For the 503 / Nginx error you kept hitting, check your [Nginx Site Error Log], you were probably hitting a NGINX rate limit (look it up in GP KB) and can whitelist whatever plugin it was hitting it to alleviate that.

  7. It looks like my other comment disappeared.

I mentioned that I'm really enjoying the Sure products. You can become an affiliate for them if you want to add that to your affiliate offerings.

Regarding CPTs, my sites have been so much more organized since using CPTs for all the parts of a sales process (service/product page, checkout w/ Surecart form, confirmation, scheduling link, and intake forms for service-based offerings).

Your site looks great. Thanks for sharing your process!

  8. Brilliantly done and executed as always, Kevin! the value you bring to the community is immeasurable. Thank for being so open and intentional in your sharing with us. Definitely gives me inspiration as I will be working on my own branded agency site soon.

  9. Awesomeness ^__^ Congrats, nice-looking website.

CPT/Fields save my life from a lot of pain… I recall watching ur video on the cases to use! Then never started a website without it considered.

I wonder about one thing Kevin, What about Database for the CPT/Fields, have you considered using a specific DB for each CPT?

If you don't, I think you need to. It's something huge for a maintainable, scalable rule!

  10. You were the person, who actually made the Custom post type easy to create. Now, Custom post types are my best friends for all my projects. When I browse final websites done with dynamic in mind, I feel soo much more proud of myself because of the dynamic functions.

Now, its possible to make any type of website, thus I am able to charge 4 figures without any doubt.

  11. I appreciate all the work you do for the web design community. Today's video is the shot in the arm many people need to get their head around what the back-end looks like and how the ecosystem should function. It is invaluable.
