Disable notices or notifications from WordPress admin including or excluding theme & plugin update notifications. Install few plugins and visit WordPress Dashboard and WP admin pages. Do you see notices and notifications at the top of pages? These notices appear at top of every page in WordPress admin. If you see screen options. There is no option to turn on or off admin notices. There are other notifications in admin also, such as theme or plugin update notifications. But we are talking about notifications or notices that appear at top of every page in WordPress admin.
These notices increase as you install more plugins. These are from plugin developers. We can close these notices by pressing close button or choosing one of the option that they offer, but these notices may reappear in future. To support your favorite free plugins, you can let these notices sit there or take suggested action but your client may ask you to remove all admin notices to reclaim wasted space at top of every page. These notices waste a lot of screen space. So you are bound to hide these notices or these will push actual content way down below.
Luckily there is an easy way to hide these. From plugins page search and install ‘Hide Dashboard Notifications’ plugin. This plugin offers few choices. I will choose ‘Hide Dashboard notices and warnings’. Now hidden notifications can be still viewed by clicking at ‘notifications tab’ from plugin settings page.
There are other such plugins as well. One popular plugin is ‘Disable Admin Notices individually’. Search and install ‘Disable Admin Notices individually’. This will allow you to hide each notification selectively. You can still access these notification by going to plugin settings and resetting notifications.
So you can hide all notifications including theme and plugin updates or you can choose to hide only admin notices while showing theme and plugin update notifications.
