  1. As an Egyptian American UX designer myself I love it when I see knowledgeable UX designers like you happen to have an accent.
It emphasizes my opinion on how most great trends in UI, fashion, interior design come originally from Europe and Asia. Americans here might be “uncompetable” when it comes to technology, but Europeans—especially Germans, French, Polish, and Italians—are definitely wizards when it comes to aesthetics and art.

Good job Patricia, loved your content

  2. Something I hope and believe that wont happen is the Remote working. I mean sure we can cut short some pointless meetings and ridiculous amount of traveling. But humans are social Animals once Pandemic is over many will run to the offices (Ofc many of them wont be excited as they might have realized they are loners ) but the major chunk of people will run to that working environment where the best of them comes out.

  3. Really its AR/MR and Voice Interactions and design for me. Found you through your guest post on HelloTegra about Prototyping for Augmented Reality

    P.S ― Dribble Invite 😶

  4. Hi, Patricia! Welcome to the YouTube world. I'm a fan of your work, so I have already subscribed.💖
First of all, 3D is already among us and it's here to stay. In 2021, I strongly believe that we will be seeing more of AR/VR (the game-changers), voice and gesture interactions, and personalization.
    – AR/VR is going to revolutionize the way we work, learn, interact, consume… we are witnessing the dawn of a new era and as UX designers we need to prepare ASAP.
    – The movie Minority Report introduced us to the concept of gestural interactions and this reality is not just fiction anymore. As mentioned in the video, if gestures and voice commands are handy shortcuts to frequent actions, we can really see the safety and convenience benefits. We cannot rely only on current UIs to support the interactions of the future.
    – I believe personalization has already played a significant role in the UX world for quite some time now, without some not even noticing. The streaming services already provide customized and personalized content. I am certain that a mix of personalization and customization will become a must for most services in order to keep their users interested and engaged in the content of their interest.
Thanks, Patricia! And… I would love that Dribble invite. 😎🙌

  5. Thank you for this interesting content! For me the 4. trend is very important because of the current and onholding situation. In my office, the printer was prepared (during the second lockdown) so that printing can only be done by tapping several times on the touchscreen and putting your chip card on the side of the printer. Not a good option to protect your employees because a touchscreen is full of bacteria and viruses.
And Personalization of programs or advertising will be even more relevant!

  6. Really interesting trends Patricia!! I think AR/VR and voice and gesture interactions are definitely gonna take a step forward in 2021. We were all going there anyway but the pandemic fast forward these trends even faster.

I must also say that I’m really excited about the ‘Unorthodox design decisions’. It’s about time we start seeing something different. IG carrousels all look the same, Dribble is all about Glassmorphism, Neumorphism and all the morphisms, web design the same.. So it’s good to think we’re heading over a more creative direction 🙂

  7. I think for me AR is really gonna make a huge impact in coming times as AR is one of those trend which is not completely new but still not completely available in the market. As we can see that AR technology has been used mostly in Interior decor apps but gradually AR is making it's way to other areas also specially in retail sector. In this time of pandemic we all have discovered a fear of virus in our mind, we hesitate to touch anything. If we take an example of clothes shopping and if a person is able to see himself/herself in the mirror trying the clothes virtually and by not actually touching and wearing it. It will be a very huge step in the retail sector. There are already some experiment present in the market but it's getting better and better with time.

  8. Thanks Patricia for sharing your expectations for what becomes important in 2021. I was happy to see my thesis topic personalized adaptive interfaces beyond them. Let's hope that not something major unexpected will happen like this year that turns all predictions upside down. I am looking forward to see them becoming reality 🙂

  9. I agree with all of these — my personal app is highly personalized and VR based that is in tune with all the info I only want to see. I think we'll be leaning in on personalized apps for sureee. I'm super excited with the possible new tech for ar/vr/xr! Great video Patricia!

  10. It is interesting to think that thanks to the pandemic, we do not want to touch the objects, and therefore, voice interaction or gestures will be more used in 2021. Thanks for the nice video!
