Three Things We Hate about the Ather 450X?
First, the price! We know Ather set out to make a premium experience but they remain consistently the most expensive of the electric scooters to purchase, nudging right up against the FAME II subsidy price limits. We know the long term experience works out, but the price is hard to swallow.
Second, comfort! There are scooters that are a lot more comfy for all the members of the family than the 450X and Plus scooters. It’s a combination of the sporty suspension setup, the design of the seat etc… something to watch for at the test ride!
Third, availability! Ather’s had waiting periods for a while but more importantly, they’re available in select cities only, a growing list to be sure. But this means where you live has a direct bearing on whether you’ll be able to get an Ather or not. ~

  4. Sloppy seat and hard breaking is dealy combination which create uncomfortable ride .. 😅.. i ride bit hard .. and most of the time I was on the front edge of the seat. Most of the time and ending up sitting like gal on this bike . Fuck …. Honestly I hate this bike… But looks hot 🔥.. not practical

  5. I feel maybe all the Ather scooters have the issue of irritating noise coming out from their belt in the rainy season. The noise is very loud, irritating and embarassing as well. If one goes to the service center, they get it fixed but temporarily, there is no permanent solution for the issue which is sad.

  9. Correct me if i am wrong but let me share some insights on the costs of owning an electric vehicle. While most people opt for the popular AMC (Ather assure 2500 Rs) plan, it's worth noting that this only covers basic parts and labor costs. You'll still end up with an additional service bill of around 500 Rs, making it a total of 3000 Rs.

    However, there's an alternative that can save you a lot of money! TVS electric offers a comprehensive service package at just 500 Rs for an entire year, excluding spare parts. That's a significant difference in cost compared to the Ather plan.
    Approx 12,500 kms extra for the extra 2500 rs

    Don't just take my word for it – do the math yourself and see the savings!"

  12. What about hiding better performance behind a subscription paywall? That has to be the scummiest thing a manufacturer can do. That is reason enough to not buy this scooter.

  14. also the paint quality, the grab rail and kickstand are losing paint, the kickstand doesnt have a rubber inside, hits hard on the body! and riding in rainy season, it sprinkles mud all over the body, even on the seat ☹️

  15. One thing that we dislike about the ather is that it's electric.
    1. Amount of mining refining required for battery manufacturing is much more harmful for the environment than traditional scooters
    2. Disposal of batteries can cause much more environment damage than any oil spill
    3. Energy required to charge the ather is not green Energy

  18. waiting period for a scooty 💀💀
    I remember i used to think we had a waiting period for every vehicle we had to purchase since I only saw my parents buy a car which had like a month of waiting period. When my father had to buy a new bike, he took me with him to a hero showroom, talked to the salesperson and chose the super splendor, I asked my father what would be the waiting period, both my father and salesperson had a good laugh. I didn't get it at first but when all the paperwork were done, the salesperson brought out a super splendor from the basement of showroom and on the very same day the bike was at our home and I was awed.
