I have been creating websites with squarespace, Wix, Weebly, and others since I was in high school almost a decade ago. Good tutorial, but it convinced me that I want to go totally free like I did with Weebly (RIP) back circa 2006.
Trying to set up my square space website and it’s definitely not as easy to set up as advertised. I find it very frustrating and been dealing with it for a week so far just trying to figure out what I’m doing…
This is not a good beginner tutorial. First, when I tried to make a website on Squarespace, I ran into a lot of problems not covered here before I got to the kinds of things the narrator is talking about. What's the best way to delete all those pictures that have nothing to do with my website? What, if anything, should I put there instead? A list of what Squarespace can and can't do would help too. Second, the narrator is covering a lot of irrelevant and unimportant material. "You can change this if you don't like it" has me going "Wait …what? Why would or wouldn't I like it? What makes it good or not good? WHAT?" It took me a minute to realize, "Oh. That wasn't important. He was just chattering to fill the time." I find that confusing because the chatter is hard to distinguish from the relevant content if you're a beginner who doesn't already know what's going on.
So if I'm making a website for some else do I need to buy domain first or make and desgin first?

Man so I've been trying to make a website for like 5 months now every time I try my trial runs out before I can barely even finish my website I don't know why you cant build your website first then once its done your free trial starts so now I'm looking for a different host cause on top of it being super hard to navigate and set up the trial starts while making your website and I feel like its impossible to get a website built in a day .
