  1. Hey Jamie, thanks for the video! I've followed your steps but when exporting, the pages and posts aren't exported as well. Is there any tool to achieve this too?

  2. only show 5 options, no cloning option……

    Export your theme

[Export the activated theme with user changes]

    Create sibling of your theme

[Create a new theme cloning the activated child theme. The parent theme will be the same as the parent of the currently activated theme. The resulting theme will have all of the assets of the activated theme, none of the assets provided by the parent theme, as well as user changes.]

    Overwrite your theme

[Save USER changes as THEME changes and delete the USER changes. Your changes will be saved in the theme on the folder.]

    Create blank theme

[Generate a boilerplate "empty" theme inside of this site's themes directory.]

    Create a style variation

[Save user changes as a style variation of your theme.]

so, which option should i choose?

So, you show us how to make and sell wordpress theme by giving us a theme made by you with money, basically youre selling us what you tell us to do 🙂

  4. The option to click on the w to view page templates isn't showing on my WordPress now.. i can't get the feature image to go full width i want to learn wordpress but when i can get up and running using other platforms like hostinger website builder or squarespace puts me off WordPress but if i decide to sell designs like in this video sounds like every other platform isn't as passive, upload zip with WordPress. Have you tried showit?

  5. Hi great video thank you. What are your thoughts on Kadence? Why Gutenberg over Kadence? Have you built any sites in Kadence or have tutorials on that too? I’m learning all the theme platforms and it’s hard to keep up lol .. which ones are best and why, which ones to avoid, why some builders have preferences over others etc. 🤪

  6. Hey Jamie, thank you for making WordPress easier for all of us.
When creating my own theme from your starter theme: Which license do you use – and how do I handle copyright and giving credit?

  7. Quite funny that theme designers are getting salty at this video 🙂

I welcome the ability to create and adapt themes like this, because I've bought themes that were 'professionally designed' but then the designer just got bored and dropped support 6 months later, leaving me with the proverbial baby. If I wanted to hack and support my own theme, I'd have built it from scratch (and yes I know how, but I also know how much of a faff that is to do and support).

So having no-code solutions is ace….although we are far from it being 100% perfect yet, but one day I'm hoping to never need to use the theme editor or custom CSS.

  8. So we are encouraging non technical people to start selling themes ? WordPress is bad enough with everyone creating plugins which need updating every day and breaking everything else. WordPress has become a mess. I’ve lost track on how many plugins I’ve bought which have been buggy and not updated (including yours Jamie I’m afraid). It’s just utter madness. WordPress need to build in decent functionality so you don’t need all this rubbish. Reminds me of the shoe shops in hitch hikers guide to the galaxy.
