Is this slow-loading customiser only an issue with Astra Pro? I ask because I have 3 sites running on the free version and the customiser loads in under 5 seconds for all of them.

Adam, thanks for sharing great information as always. I'm a huge fan and supporter of SiteGround and use them to host all my sites. However, as an existing customer, I'm very disappointed with the way they've gone about providing their new interface. It would be great if they provided existing customers the option of switching to the new interface when they chose to do so. After all, it's the support and loyalty of existing customers that have made it possible for the new interface to be built! SiteGround is a wonderful hosting company, but I believe they've made a mistake with their implementation process on this one. Just my 2 cents Adam. Thanks for all the wonderful work you do for the WordPress community and beyond.

The plugins Easy Updates Manager can help keeping your (selected) plugins and themes updated automatically, and WordFence Central can give you a complete overview over which sites are in danger and needs updated. Both comes in free editions and works well.

Hey Adam, if you point your dns servers to siteground, you can still do cloudflare. Siteground has a facility to adjust cloudflare settings and your dns records as well.

For Sitegroung this is great because they make it far more difficult to migrate away from them. This helps lock users … especially less technically LLP proficient users … more securely into staying with them when it's time to renew and that wonderful 70% discount you mentioned goes away.

I totally disagree with you that their new UX is better. In cpalel you just start typing what tool you need in the search box and it appears. From what you showed there are far FEWER options in this custom control panel and c-panel.

Also support costs are going to climb for anyone using a hosting company with a custom control panel. With c-panel there is a HUGE community of people who you can hire to do work on your site. But with a custom control panel you need to find someone who doesnt have to stumble through it like you did to get work done on their site.

You may be correct thought that c-panel may be phased out over time. This is NOT because these custom control panels are better for the website owner. It is all about making it difficult for people to migrate their sites to competitors…especially small lower cost competitors. Now it is pretty simple for a small company to economically offer to migrate sites from other hosting platforms to their hosting platform. But as these custom control panels become more common the small hosting company will struggle to have experts available to address migration issues for every custom control panel.

But then this custom control panel will help the hosting companies adapting this strategy to increase their retention rates ar renewal time and THAT will allow them to up thie affiliate commissions to recruit more affiliates telling new website users that their platform is better.

Facing problem with Allin One Migration

I just spent the last hour and a half updating the plugin on my main sites and 50 hosted clients (and also the smart tip on not having it or any plugins that don’t need to always be active) Def shady practices of ServMask grrrr As that’s one of my fav all time plugins and have the pro unlimited
