Using an iPad as my primary device for coding wasn’t something I thought possible until I tried it. There are a number of different ways you can use a tablet as a software development device, including things like coding apps and remote desktop.
Since I have a computer, laptop and tablet for website development, I found coding and swapping devices sort of difficult especially with the fact that most environments require me to sync github in order to get back to coding my so important HTML, CSS and JS.
So picking one device to use only, the iPad meant I tried to test out different methods for programming, and I enjoyed remote desktop the most. I technically could use a single environment with all the benefits of a super computer, but on an iPad. I used JumpDesktop to do this as teamviewer wasn’t as effective.

First off, I wanna make it clear that I'm not hating on this video. But I'm stating facts!
This video is downright misleading!
You said "I tried coding on my iPad"
But during the video, you lost track of that main idea when you downloaded the software to remote your computer to your iPad. it wasn't an iPad anymore when you changed the OS. I won't judge you for hooking it up to a keyboard😅 but you went far to connect your iPad to a bigger screen. Now you tell me, what is the difference between that and coding on a PC or Laptop? 🤨 (You totally defeat the purpose of this video 😂)

Hi,Adrian. For the next clip, please list or show the development tools of favorited programming language, it will help more people using iPad as development tools. I also use iPad as development tools for Rust and Haskell, but consumed a lot of time searching the tools. If it possible, please make the next clip for that.

I only use the iPad to code since leaving University. No keyboards, no mice only Visual Studio for iPad. I refuse to use a computer or laptop. I also use Photoshop on there

To be fair this is a reasonable setup when your work cannot be done easily and locally on any of the laptops available, or you will sacrifice portability, e.g. EDA/large simulation etc. Not that this is the way to go b/c the softwares should improve, but it indeed is coding on an iPad or other tablet.

I don't do hardcore coding, but I use a keyboard and a Android phone or tablet. Use termux and proot-distro. No other apps needed.

Termux is literally the solution. Termux with cheap Android tablet with terminal multiplexer (tmux) is better than Ipad with this usecase if you want a true portable coding experience. Or opt for more expensive option with something like Samsung Dex with termux to have desktop experience without using tmux as a window manager. This ipad with ssh is just using ipad as a terminal to remotely connect to other computer. It basically an expensive terminal that useless without internet connection.

this is cheating! you can do a similar thing on android with termux and vnc which gives you a linux desktop without root.

Why use jump desktop app when you are logging into a Windows system? Why not use what comes built into Windows? Windows Remote Desktop?
hello.. just asking if when using remote desktop mode on ipad, does it mean u have to open (must be connected to wifi ) the other device u were connected to (personal computer)? does it have to be open to operate the remote desktop between the two devices? btw i love the video, im planning to buy ipad instead of a laptop ^^ thank u in advance for answering
