When starting out as a freelancer a big concern is how to find web design clients. So in this video, I cover the steps I took when first starting out and what worked for me. This ranged from using marketplace websites such as freelancer or Upwork to targeting local business in my area.
There’s no one way of doing things so I just wanted to share how I found my first few design clients when I started out in web design and development.

great video, ive been on and off for the past year but im back on course, the best thing i done for getting a portfolio was getting in touch with local non profit organisations and offering my services for free, it spreads the word, fulfills a need and you can use a small space in the footer to show your company.

Hi. Thank you for your advice, very helpfull. By the way is there a chance to put fake phisical address on google maps? I'm based in small town in Ukraine, no clients here. I'm thinking about puting my address in some big English speaking city.
Thanks for the content. In terms of building a portfolio with a concept site, Are you referring to rebuilding the site of a local business? I would imagine the would be difficult without any input from them or new content
Nice one!
