  1. One significant drawback of using Framer, along with other SaaS-exclusive platforms like Webflow, Wix, and Squarespace, is the issue of being locked into a single platform. Both you and your clients become dependent on the platform, as you don't have true ownership over your creations but instead rent them. Personally, I find this concept unacceptable and believe it poses a substantial risk as a foundation for your business.

  2. Another interesting video, thanks! I wonder if AI was used to create this. Imagine a prompt like, "Create a PageBuilder that allows the users to create a full feature website using AI but also provide features from popular PageBuilders like Elementor that will allow full customizations of the AI generated content by the end user". If you have keen GoogleFoo skills I think this will definitely increase your ability to construct powerful prompts which will soon allow for more complex instruction sets and generate some ridiculous results as time goes by. Not much time mind you…

  3. New niche for wordpress developers: rebuilding crappy AI-generated sites for clients who thought it would be cheap and easy to get a shiny new website for their small business.

  4. That site just wasn’t very nice. It was incredibly basic and lacked any sort of “pop” or “cool” or “wow” factor. A site like the one you demonstrated will still need a savvy web designer/developer to take it to the next level that most clients expect. Not to mention custom widgets, API integrations, etc…

Currently I still have to teach the popular AI’s to not make stupid coding mistakes. If the AI learned from the internet, and the internet represents the common knowledge and capacity of humans, then you can color me concerned 😉

And by the way, yes, semantics matter. Especially for proper ADA compliance which is now becoming a major factor in our industry. Too much DOM? Watch your customer site rank decrease in Google.

How do I know? I’ve been doing this for 30 years now. I have run hundreds of tests between sites. The quality of the code has a huge impact on ranking. The quality of design and content has a huge impact on engagement once the user arrives.

I like Framer as a way to get ideas started. However, these AI sites require quite a bit of extra work before they actually become rank-able with a low bounce rate. Even then you still need a good designer if you want something that isn’t cookie cutter basic. You still need a good coder if you want something beyond very basic functionality. 🤷‍♂️

Yes, I use Framer in my toolset 😎

  5. That's it?! lol they look like crap. Maybe it will be worth it once Figma releases AI tools and you can then edit them before import to your site.

  6. Pretty awesome for generating full page colour schemes for inspiration, personally wont be using it for anything other than that, lol, still really cool though.

  7. Really? is this the future? What about proper semantic html. Did you look at the output code? Does it have any accessibility considerations? No wonder professional web designers struggle in their businesses! When you offer to build a professional website and the guy tells you why are you charging me this much? Now with AI my little nephew can build a website with no cost at all 😂

  8. My doubts are related to the use of FRAMER for marketing campaigns, a more commercial use.

    a) Is it possible to insert tracking tags? Ex: PIXEL from facebook, GTM from google, Tag from google?

    b) Is it possible to use UTM parameters for links?

    c) Is it possible to integrate email marketing tools like Active Campaign into forms? Or insert the embedded HTML code?

  9. Honestly, WordPress is going in the same direction so there really is no need to jump into Framer just yet. I can see WP going big in this direction, along with people already using WP for their websites now.
It would seem logical to evolve with WP itself and work with clients to upgrade their sites along the way instead of switching to Framer and investing into an untested and unknown platform. I can easily see current WP users doing the same, and assisting with them upgrade would be the best direction to go for a solid learning curve that clients already know and trust.
Thank you for the video and overview, you do great work keeping us on the leading edge of this new AI technology. You are very much appreciated.
