I wrote about not being able to follow your video a few weeks ago because my site was always different from how yours presented, even though I was following the instructions.
I had found your video after getting hosting and installing WordPress through a hosting company (not Hostgator). This is a crucial difference because I learned I was using a specially slimmed down version of WordPress that was designed for their hosting company. It felt crazy to get different results or be unable to do complete some instructions because the site features did not match the ones in the video. The clue came when I decided to erase it all and couldn't find the cpanel – because there wasn't one. Suddenly, on went the lightbulb! I asked the tech gurus at the hosting company to delete the site, then installed the full version of WordPress and started over as you directed, and now it's smooth sailing.
I am posting this because others might have done what I did at first, without realizing that they are getting a special version of WordPress through their hosting company that is different from the full version you are using. It is very important to use the correct version of WordPress and if a reader is new to this, they might not realize that their version is Word Press "Lite" without the necessary features. Now that I am aware of the difference and am using the right version, I am a happy camper and am enjoying the instructions very much. Thank you!
