There has been some discussion as of late of peoples reactions to the aesthetic and production of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers “Once and Always” (and by extension the general power rangers/toku aesthetic) Its pretty much what we have come to expect as fans, but do the naysayers have a point? Could it the poor reception of the shows quality be telling for the brands future?

It's kind of funny, I like the MCU because they don't wear the spandex that the characters do in the comics, yet I enjoy Power Rangers BECAUSE of the Toku aesthetic and then wearing spandex. I definitely think some of the MCU suits are over designed, likewise with the MMPR movies. I think if they can figure out a happy medium it could be pretty great. Maybe have spandex suits but with a little more, umph if that makes sense? Like the Bat In The Sun suit. I think that is the perfect iteration of Green Ranger and would love to see an entire team/season with suits like that.

That's the problem with modern shows and movies they only look good unlock substance. I just want to see good stories without identity politics being shoved down my throat every 5 minutes.
I never trusted Netflix for entertainment and the rest of tv apps because I don't need it, I would rather turned it off and read more.

This is why I wish the 2017 reboot worked out. I wish Power Rangers could take that next step to a more mature level. I hate that people still view it as a kids show, I understand why, but has potential to branch out of that. At the end of the day they’re super heroes, just like Marvel and DC. Heck even Spider-Man wears spandex. If 2017 had a tad more similarities in terms of the suits, I think fans stuck in the 90s would have actually enjoyed it.
I think what they need to do is do something different with the cost of me because if you notice the cost of me throughout the power ranger franchise it's all call now the movie had it kind of good what it looked more like Armor then cloth
We know this is also a celebration of the power rangers 30th anniversary and the death of Jason Frank now our day reintroducing the dinosaurs and mighty Morphin after the special or we going to go with daughter being a new Zach and Billy Yost is definitely going to be on

PR was at its peak in the Disney era. Now it's just gone backward. In terms of everything. The writing, directing, acting, and just overall quality. Even the theme songs. If only the newer stuff could balance franchise maturity and nostalgia more, that would be great.

I don’t know but what costume designs and effects they used on power ranger movie were decent
PR doesn't need MCU/DCU budget, an Arrowverse budget about $3m per episode would be more than enough

I want my power rangers to look cheap as possible. I don’t want CGI alien morph suits, I want spandex and wire work and and genuine fight choreography. Everything else is extra
Iam expecting for this to look exactly like it does now with maybe only slight differences. Such as how the command center is different they maybe purposely not changing much because some fans may hate it if it’s too different.
Damn critiquing a show before it even comes out? I mean what did you seriously expect from the reunion special of a show that is 90% Sentai footage?

Agree it win never be a big brand, the Toku design elements appear to be getting more and more out there which I's making even harder for PR and then yes there's the painfully cheap budget they give to try and make it.
PR design should be basically 5+ superheroes is different coloured Batman exo suits/ Ironman Suits battling baddies in same vein and style as Spiderman's baddies.
I’d consider myself a member of the general audience for this and it does look cheap, cheesy but that’s Power Rangers! It’s still cool, the Megazords were awesome but let’s be honest, the stories, sets and acting were always cheesy, hammy and that was the charm of it. I would just embrace Power Rangers for what it is right now and enjoy it because once Cosmic Fury has aired and wrapped up, Power Rangers will be changed forever
