In this WooCommerce tutorial, I will show you from start to finish how to create a webshop using WordPress and WooCommerce. This eCommerce tutorial is both for people that want to create a fully functional webshop from scratch and for people that want to extend their WordPress website with a webshop.

If you start from scratch, I will show you how to get your own domain name and Webhosting. After that, we will install WordPress and WooCommerce so you can start selling products on your website.

There are 6 different kinds of products we will create:
1. A simple product with only one option.
2. A variable product where visitors have multiple options to choose from. Like size and color.
3. A Virtual product like a coaching call or a service.
4. A digital downloadable product, like an eBook, Image, Video, or any other digital file.
5. An affiliate product so you can send visitors to an external product or service using your affiliate link and when they buy the product, you get a commission.
6. A grouped product where you can sell multiple products on one product page.

We will talk about the title of your product, pricing, discount, scheduled discount, categories, subcategories, tags, featured images, gallery.

We will adjust our shop page to your wishes and add sidebar widgets like a search widget, price filter widget, category widget, featured product widget and a cart widget.

In order to boost the sales on your woocommerce website, we will talk about coupons. Coupons with discount in dollars and in percentage. Free shipping coupon codes. Coupons for specific products. We will also talk about limitations like spending at least $35 dollars for a coupon code to be valid. Or limit the amount of times people can make use of the coupon.

We will automate the whole shipping process. Based on the total weight of the cart. Or the total price. Based on where people come from. And we will encourage visitors to spend more on your webshop so they get free shipping.

I will show you how to apply taxes. How to set it up manually, with different countries, states and normal and reduced rates. I will also show you how let WooCommerce calculate the taxes automatically.

I show you how to add payment methods to your WooCommerce website so people can pay using creditcard, PayPal, klarna and other payment providers.

We will learn how to deal with incoming orders and how to change the content, look and feel of confirmation emails you send to customers.

After we make backups of our website we will learn how to import a pre made website (starter site) so you can save yourself a ton of time. At the end of the tutorial you will have a fully functional WooCommerce webshop on autopilot. They only think you need to take care of is sending the right products to the right address.

  1. I am liking your video only after viewing a couple of minutes. It seems like you have put alot of effort making it. And it seems to be very well done! Thanks you! I will go through your video to be able to understand this platform. Thanks again!

  2. Wow. Amazing video! What I appreciate most is your timestamps! I don't need the basics…just some bits about woocommerce. So nice that I'm able to just watch the bits I need, not the "how to make a site" I love that it's all in the same video too! This is literally the perfect beginner and developer video! I can skip to the part I need for quick info as a versed developer, or watch the whole thing and learn everything! Very cool! 🤓

  3. Ferdy, as always another great tutorial. Can I check do you have any videos that show how to create an e commerce website were on the page a customer can customize the order so for example they can add a name that can be engraved say for example on a piece of jewelry?

    Thank you.

    Rahul.

  4. Hey Ferdy, is it possible to repost the WooCommerce YouTube video that you had up before you went to the new video with the pre-made site templates from within the active site theme, such as OceanWP or Astra? I mean the long YouTube video that talked about how to upload your .wpress file that you provided from your website into WP All In One Migration plugin, as well as talked about how to build the whole e-commerce site. You were either using OceapWP theme or Astra theme in the video. I'm not sure if the YouTube video was focused more on selling affiliate products on WooCommerce or just a general WooCommerce store. The video that I'm talking about is quite a bit older, but I'm having a very difficult time finding it on YouTube. I'm not sure if you have taken it down at some point so as not to confuse your subscribers. If you can't repost it, can you please send it to me via Google Drive or something like that? I have already built a site using that .wpress file method, and I would like to refresh my memory. Thank you.

  5. Hi Ferdy, classmates!

I changed the setting the setting of WordPress address and site address, and I've got an error on my localhost of safety issue,
I haven't been able to re-create my docker container and each time y try to delete images/containers from dockers and start all over again, I just get a blank page when accessing my localhost.

Appreciate if someone could help me with this issue, as I'm doing my best to learn this magic to test on my local environment.

    Best regards,

  6. Hi Ferdy,

do you know how I can display additional informations for a product on the shop page? I want to sell books in my store, but can't figure out how to display the author (as an additional field) on the shop page where all products are listed!

Would be great if you could help me out!

    All the best!

  7. Hello ! It was a blast ! I wanted to rebuild my woocommerce website part and thanks to your videos: I did it in one evening! But I'm still looking for one element : Food labeling icons (like contains gluten, sulfite, fish, suitable for vegans, Milk, etc. etc. etc.) do you have information on how i can add them in my woocommerce description ? Thanks a lot for your amazing work !

  8. Thank you! Please I have an important question: how do i edit the Woocommerce orders page of my website to suit the colors and style I want?
Also, how can I edit the Woocommerce default button that says “no order has been made yet?”

  9. Hi! Please how can I customize the Woocommerce orders page to suit my website color?
Also, how can I customize the default button design that says “no order has been made yet”

  11. Hi Ferdy, congrats on the value you give to your videos! This video was very helpful for me. I was wondering which is the best way to be secure on payment methods. This is always a big issue for developers and for e-shop owners!

  12. Hi, I'm looking for information on how to show the subcategories but I can't find someone who shows it.

I have a website that has an example of 10 categories, and each category has several subcategories, what I try is that when I click on a category I am sent to another page that shows me the subcategories of that category, and when I click it shows me the product of that subcategory I clicked on.

In Elementor I create conditions in file but the condition will open the subcategory that I tell it in the condition, so I have to create a file for each subcategory. Is there a way to reduce this to a single file?
There are many subcategories to be creating a file for each one.
    Greetings.

  13. Hi Ferdy, Just watched your tutorial, which is great and am now building a website along with you. You don't mention file sizes for product images. I have all my images on photoshop and am not sure what size they should be for web. Do you have a tutorial for this?
