Chris thought it was about time we showed the BMW GS some love, so we have three of them for a GS head to head. We’ve got the 1150 GS adventure, a R 1200 GS Adventure and finally a brand new R 1250 GS Rallye. Can you afford £17,000 for a new GS, check out some older slightly used options…

  1. Hi Chris an Team I just wanna say this video is epic would love to see more along these lines, N it's great to see cost of bikes being mentioned I've had a 1200GSA 2014 which a dealer lunched 3 engines on after they left the gaskets off doing a valve check. a f800 an a 1200GS TE Rallye 2018 love that rallye so much but I sold it to help my dad out. I've been on a 300 rally recently an now looking at the beemers again but not in the position I was for the rest of the year so it's great to see the twin cammer an the 1150 being compared as well 🙂 thanks again for a brilliant video.

  2. Nice comparison 👍🏾 I own a R1100GS and previously owned a R100GS (The original GS-bike yup, still regret selling it). I have riden R1150GS & R1200GS, but i still prefer the GS-es without all the electronic & computerised mumbojumbo 🏍🤘🏾

  3. The BMW R80 G/S was the first "Adventure" bike, released in 1980.

It makes perfect sense this platform has surpassed any and all adaptions and iterations of the design…..the GS is the standing example.

As a previous (And future) owner of a GS…..Nothing compares and I am and always will be 100% biased about this.

I currently have a KLR 650 and an Africa Twin, both will be replaced by a new GSA soon.

  4. Yep Chris that old ones was for a real Man nothin electronic no help just you and the a bike that’s was a good skill now everyone ist a good pilot because the electronic help or correct you it’s like new generation cristal generation I’m a old school just abs that’s it bike for a really man

  5. i had the 2019 GSA 1250
worst pile of sh1t i ever drove
now to be clear, it was a comfy drive, speedy, nice maneuvering
However…….ALL of the following was replaced on the bike (spent more time in bmw garage than the staff
4 exhausts (all replaced due to faulty sensors)
3 sets of mirrors (Mirror got loose on them ALL)
knob to adjust the front screen broke off
gear box linkage, then gear box
engine casing (rust under powder coating & powder coating bubbling)
    rear shock
    drive shaft

  6. A very expensive relic with a boxer engine from a bygone era. Common guys… What 'new vs old' here, all of them are old tech so I'll go for the older model and treat is a retro / classic bike.

  7. I liked your video but did not watch to the end. FYI for what it's worth I hate mid roll ads. I have a channel of my own and I never enable mid roll ads. They are very annoying. Food for thought! You're and incredible rider. Very impressive

  8. A really interesting comparison. Thank you. I had an R1150 GS and was contemplating a used liquid cooled R1200 GSA. It is good to hear that the gains are worthwile. I just can't being myself to spend £15k plus on a toy

  9. I wonder why do people need tourers and advs with such high capacity engines when speed limits aren’t higher than 90-120 kmph? Plus they get exceedingly bulky for comfortable off-roading.
What does 1250GS do substantially better than a, say, 310GS?

  10. Got to be honest here , iv just bought a BMW 1250GS Adventure Rallye on a 22 plat brand new ,
I'm not truly impressed just yet !!
It could be because of my last bike ??
Honda Africa twin 1100 adventure sport ES DCT ,
    what can I say ??
Its that DCT , its fantastic, I just had to see what all the fuss was with these 1250GS bikes ??
I hope it grows on me , I'll give it 12 months, in fairness I don't think it would have made any difference what bike I had got unless it had DCT , its so engaging 😉👍
