With the free version of the Astra theme and OceanWP theme you can create a beautiful website! There are a lot of customise options and they both make use of Elementor as a page builder. So with those free themes and free page builder.
In the free version the OceanWP themes seems to have more options. But with the Pro versions of the Astra and OceanWP theme, all the Astra packages are for unlimited websites and the OceanWP theme starts with a license for one website.

I don't know. Why but New software has bugs. In the latest version of WooCommerce product filters don't work, in the old one they do.
My recent YouTube update has Broken Video browsing / skipping forward and back is broken.

What about the Kadence Theme and Kadence Blocks. I think it is the fastest, customisable(you customise header, footer, blog posts, woocomerce etc.), and most gutenburg friendly (Kadence blocks adds additional functionality to gutenburg and make it function exactly like elementor. For example row layouts, posts, and starter templates) free theme I could find.

Both are excellent, currently we're using Oceans Wp Pro and like it very much, it was a toss up between the two. Can't go wrong with either.

I would maybe be tempted for the Astra if only for the auto resizing for smartphones.
Most people these days will check the web page on their phone first and if they are interested go to a full screen computer. I would be interested in getting advice on this aspect.
